Feeling Everything: The Power (and Challenge) of Emotional Regulation
Hello Beautiful Souls,
Some weeks, it’s not the external chaos that feels the hardest — it’s what stirs inside.
The bigness of your emotions.
The ache of old patterns resurfacing.
The wave of tenderness that doesn’t seem to have a clear reason.
Especially when you're microdosing or fresh from ceremony... everything can feel a little closer to the surface.
A little louder.
A little more demanding.
And the old habit? To clamp down.
To get it “under control.”
To retreat to safety or spiritual bypass.
To wonder: Why am I still feeling this way? Shouldn’t I be further along by now?
But here's the truth: feeling isn’t regression.
It’s regulation.
Why Emotional Regulation Is Not What We Were Taught
You were likely taught that emotional regulation means being calm, quiet, and contained.
But in the world of deep healing — especially with the support of psychedelics — it actually means something else:
Emotional regulation means you stay present to your experience without abandoning yourself.
It means you can ride the waves without needing to drown or shut down.
It means your system is re-learning how to hold emotion without collapsing into it.
That’s powerful.
It also takes time.
Microdosing can reveal just how loud your inner world is — not to overwhelm you, but to give you a chance to tend to what’s been stored in the background.
To let the body finish what it never got to feel safely.
And that’s not a setback. That’s progress.

Reflection Prompt
When big emotions come, what is my default response?
Do I tend to push them down, perform resilience, or seek to fix them quickly?
What would it mean to just be with them?
Practice
Next time an emotion rises — whether grief, anger, tenderness, or longing — try this:
Place one hand on your chest and one on your belly
Breathe into your body and name the feeling, gently
Say: “This gets to be here too.”
Stay with it for 3–5 minutes without moving to change it.
Notice what shifts.
This is your system learning you don’t need to hide anymore.

What’s Coming This Week
On Wednesday, I’ll send your weekly challenge — a gentle invitation to trace who you’ve been and recognize who you’re becoming.
And on Thursday, your audio guide will arrive — a deeper reflection on living unfinished and trusting the shift before it takes shape.
Because this... right here... is where your power lives.
Let’s Walk This Together
You are not late.
You are not behind.
You are not supposed to be further than you are.
You are becoming... quietly, deeply, beautifully.
And that is more than enough.
With love,
Alice
P.S.
If you haven’t yet explored the Path or Pattern assessment, now is the time to check in. It’s a short, powerful reflection tool I created to help you get honest about your relationship with the medicine — where you’re aligned, where you’re looping, and where something deeper might be ready to emerge.
There are only a few spots open right now in my Walk the Medicine Path Mentorship, and once they’re filled, I won’t be opening new spaces again until winter.
If you’ve been feeling the nudge... this is your moment to listen.
You can take the assessment here:
It only takes a few minutes — and it might bring the clarity you’ve been waiting for.
